Enrico Ollearo
With the beginning of the war there is often no electricity to operate the machine tools, so the Ollearo engine (usually the 500cc) is transformed for industrial use, powered with petrol or gas produced by a charcoal stove (gasifier). A pulley is applied to the output of the gear shaft of the engine, the machine tools are turned with a belt applied to the pulley and a longer lever is adopted that allows the starting with the hand. Inspired by this necessity, during the war these engines are built in different models and sold especially in the countryside.
